Kongppadu

콩빠두

Review

Kongppadu sits right in front of Exit 6 of Oksu Station and is known as a favorite of actress Jeon Ji-hyun. The name itself translates to something like "tofu dipped in soybean milk," and true to that, every dish on the menu runs on a soy base, healthy enough and good enough to have pulled repeat visits.

The signature Kongppadu dish serves a whole block of tofu sitting in nutty soybean milk. Both the sundubu jjigae and the biji jjigae are good enough that choosing between them is genuinely difficult, so ordering whichever one you're craving that day is the better approach. Tofu kimchi and jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork) worked well split between two people, and the side dishes came out neat and plentiful, rounding out into a full table setting with five-grain rice and wraps. For a healthy, filling meal in Oksu-dong, this is a solid recommendation.
