Review
Walking from Samgakji station toward Yongridan-gil, the charcoal smoke reaches you before the restaurant does -- this is a dedicated grilled river eel spot. When you order, they bring out the eel before it's been prepared so you can see it, and the size is impressive.
On the grill, the skin crisps up while the flesh stays moist and keeps its own richness. Dipped in just a little salt, the eel's natural savoriness fills your mouth with each bite -- genuinely one of the better meals I've had in the area. Sitting right between Sinyongsan and Samgakji, it's the place that comes to mind whenever eel crosses my mind in this neighborhood.
