Atta
아따
Tucked into a backstreet off Hannam-daero, Atta is a small wood-fired pizza bar with counter seating, where bottles of Glenfiddich and Ardbeg sit lined up within arm's reach and you can hear the crackle of the oven fire as pizzas cook nearby.
The charcoal-dough pizza topped with black truffle is the one to order — breaking the soft egg yolk lets it run slowly over the cheese, and combined with the truffle aroma it's a flavor that's stuck with me since the visit.
The pistachio pasta was a pleasant surprise: a nutty, savory crumble clings to the noodles, and it turned out to be just as good as the pizzas, which I hadn't expected from a place I assumed specialized in pizza alone. The pepperoni pizza, topped with cherry tomatoes and red onion, had a light sweet tanginess that rounded it out nicely.
Seating is limited, but that scarcity makes the room feel cozy rather than cramped — the kind of place where you could easily come alone, order a whole pizza, and pair it with a glass of whiskey.
Loved it
- 1 The texture of the charcoal pizza dough
- 2 A cozy, intimate atmosphere despite limited seating
- 3 Unusual menu combinations like pistachio pasta alongside the pizzas
